Sight risers

Post by conradin »

Is there a height limit for slight risers? I read the rules and there is a limit for air rifle, but I cannot find any on smallbore. Does that mean I can stack my sights as high as I want?

No, there is no limit on riser blocks for 50m rifle, so yes you can go as high as you like. Check out Petar Gorsa's kneeling position from the Munich World Cup. He has about 4in, possibly more, of raisers.

This is ok within the rules but...

In my opinion, this is not cool. The proportions and aesthetics for spectators, to "recognize what is a rifle" is shaded by this kind of setup.

The pursuit of a position that brings high scores leave to this awckward looks must have some reasonable limits I think.

Some limits exist even for Free Rifles. This is a thing that could be limited, more than the 60mm for Air rifles but not as high that gives the impression that there is a rifle attached to sights...

Not to mention there is a thousand Euros only in raisers.
