T200 PCP Rifle

We've just acquired several T-200 PCP rifles but are having a positioning problem with one our athletes. When in the prone position the sling/buckle are making contact with the rifle at the pistol grip and the athletes hand. We have tried adjusting the rifle and the athletes position with no success. Has anyone experienced this problem? and if so, were you able to correct it?

We follow the National Standard Three-Position Air Rifle Rules (2014-2016). The specific rule is Section 5.0 Competitions Conditions, Paragraph 5.1.1 Prone Position - No part of the rifle may touch the sling or it attachments, The rifle must not touch or rest against any other point of object, and The right hand or arm may not touch the left arm, shooing jacket or sling.

Try using a fore end riser:

Compare the positions of your shooters who do not have problems against the one with problems. You may find the one with problems has the supporting elbow too close to being under the rifle. If so, move it slightly out, and readjust the sling.

I checked the National Three-Position Air Rifle Rule Book for Sporter and it doesn't look like we can use a riser block. I have an inquiry in to the National Three-Position Air Riflery Committee and hope to get more information. We can't be the first Team to encounter such a problem using this rifle. If and when I hear anything further I'll post it. I really like this rifle and look forward to next season. Thank you again National Rifle Association Foundation Grant Program.

You could use the foreend block in precision, but not in sporter.

Sporter air rifle stocks must be symmetrically shaped so that either a right or lefthanded
athlete can use them. The stock may be refinished or painted any color. The
cheek-piece or pistol grip may not be anatomically formed (special shaping to fit or
hold the hand or fingers). Except for modifications to the stock length, cheek-piece or
pistol grip that are authorized by this rule, no other external modifications to the stock
are permitted.

Yes and we will certainly do that, now we just have to work on our Sporter season.

Have you fixed it? If not, try this.

If the sling is touching the shooting hand, try moving the support hand back and adjusting the hips to the left (right handed shooter, opposite for a left eyed shooter). The sling, upper and lower support arm should make a solid triangle, and by moving the hips a tad off line you should see the other triangle, made by the sling, the rifle, and the shooters shoulders, increase the angle of the sling/rifle intersection.
