Here's a pic of an earlier 1813 that originally had the creasant buttplate with a newer 4760 butt plate. You can see how it doesn't match but does work ok. This buttplate wasn't original to the rifle or stock.

Anschutz may now sell the Retro buttplate but you need the spacer/mount to attach to an early 1813 or older and I don't see that anywhere. Maybe the buttplate mounts directly to the steel plate/carrier but then it would give you 1/2" less lop.

Can anyone share a closeup picture of how the butt hook assembly is fastened onto the black plate, looking from the stock backward? Can I use standard hardware-store metric nuts, or do I need something special?

No special nuts needed if you do not close completely the buttplate.
