Greetings League Shooters,
Welcome to the 2016 League season, the league officially starts this week. First scores are due in by Saturday, January 16th.
Registration, we have 26 teams and 187 shooters. We still might pick up a team or two along the way. For those that need to register as an individual, need to set up your teams or create your club or team. Please do so as soon as possible. Some of the club's still need to log in and pay, again please do that as soon as you can, you can not input scores for shooters that have not paid.
You can add additional shooters at anytime during the season. If your club has more than one team, after the season starts you can not move a shooter from one team to another, but you can always add new shooters. Swapping teams would drive the computer calculations crazy, so the system will not allow it.
Divisions, we will have four divisions this year,
They are expected to be as follows;
North
Alexander Bay
Plattsburgh
Plattsburgh JRs
Point Clair PQ
Massina
Marksman
East
Aces
Barington
Burlington
Hudson Falls
Northfield
Whitehall
South
Columbia
Long Island
Niantic
Orlando
Rosyln
Rotterdam
West
Albion
Amboy
Jamestown
Modesto/Cap
Modesto/Cap WTH
Rochester
Rochester Chargers
Washington State
Inputting scores, You can start inputting scores; input scores at the league web site, VTWinter.PostalLeague.com by selecting scores next to the particular match you want to enter scores for, then select the drop down bar (with the proper date) and just type them in and hit save. Easy. If you find yourself away any particular week, and can not input your team scores have someone e-mail me the results and I will do that for you
Results, should be available for view by Monday morning, (maybe Sunday I don't recall what we set the exact day for last year) at the latest by checking back to the web site. I will also try and get results out to the entire league by sometime Monday or Tuesday of each week. (with the large number of shooters please be patient). Its recommended that those that shoot on Saturdays shoot your first scores tomorrow, this will give you some room in case you run into problems during the season (like snow). (or heat stroke if you live in Florida or Modesto). Only match 10 scores/targets needs to be sent in for verification.
Juniors, please send me an e-mail to VTWinterPostalLeague@Yahoo.com with the names of your junior shooters. I do not want to forget who they are or leave anyone one off any potential weekly junior all-star team. I know you may have mentioned them in previous e-mail and I will do my best to remember all of them, however with so many teams I just do not want to risk it. Plus it will make my life easier.
A few people have asked me about where their matches can be fired. The answer is anyplace you want, that's the nice part of this postal league. Shoot it on your home club range if you are lucky enough to have a range in your house good for you, you can shoot at a friends range, at a registered match, College or at the Olympic Training Center. Just shoot, be safe, use the proper targets be honest and enjoy.
As always don't forget the league is on facebook at Vermont Winter Postal League. Feel free to send team photos to post
If you have any concerns do not hesitate to send me an e-mail at vtwinterpostalleague.com or call me at 518-298-7776 or 518 534-1730.
Matt Haggstrom from NetCompetitor.com is our web host, he can be reached at Matt@netcompetitor.com its suggested that during the season if you have any web problems send us both an e-mail at the same time. His web site has some big plans for the shooting community I am sure you will be hearing a lot about over the next few years. Technically you can log into our web site through his, this web site actually provides some additional information and tools for our club managers, but maybe more confusing to use with these additional options.
Here are the important dates to remember
Week One scores are to be submitted by Sat 1/16/16 and then weekly thereafter.
Week Two scores due by 1/23/16
Week Three scores due by 1/30/16
Week Four scores due by 2/6/16
Week Five scores due by 2/13/16
Week Six scores due by 2/20/16 (brackets are set for match 7)
Bye week
Week Seven scores due by 3/5/16 (this is our first bracket match week)
Week eight scores due by 3/12/16
Week nine scores due by 3/19/16 (brackets are set for match 10)
Week Ten scores due by 4/2/16, Targets should be mailed or hand delivered no later than 4/2/16
You MUST submit your scores by the cut off date, the computer will not allow late entries without my approving the entry or score change. You may submit scores early but please be careful you enter your scores into the correct week. You will only see your own team scores prior to the cut off date.
Looking forward to a great season
