returning shooter - used equipment

Hello everyone,

As stated, im a returning shooter that would like to get back into it. Shot in college and not a lick since but starting to get the bug again. I have no equipment as I used the team's stuff. I want to shoot smallbore, but not extremely competitive; just local club events and stuff.

Not sure where to look, but wanted a used smallbore rifle under $800 if possible. tips?

If you are thinking 3 position, three of us are very happy with Anschutz 1407's from the early 70's. Two were purchased in very good condition and one was a restoration project (under $500). A 1407 in very good conditions with iron sights should go between $900 and $1200. The two stage trigger is preferable. An Anschutz 1413/1613/1813 would be better suited for prone but a bit more expensive.
