the right arm when standing

Post by yana »

Question about the right (non supporting)arm, standing, AR.
Do you fully relax it and just let it hang on yr triggerhand (that holds the grip), or do you keep some tension in it?
Any specific angle for it? Arm in line with triggerhand?

Some coaches suggest the trigger arm should be allowed to drop by gravity and where it comes to rest is where it should be, no muscles involved holding it up.(there are some shooters who like to hold the elbow almost horizontal) They also say a moderate grip of the pistol grip should be maintained evenly shot to shot, read Ways Of The Rifle where these techniques are explained in detail.
