Gehmann 510 rear iris - quick question

Quick question for anyone with a recent model 510 Gehmann rear iris (plain adjustable no filters)...

Does the screw shaft come off of the iris body?

(see pic for what I'm after, minus the fancy iris)

It looks like it will unscrew like the one on the bottom of Photo 2.
No, I have not unscrewed it as it takes more than finger pressure.
