S&W 52/1 reloading

Hi! I still use S&W 52/1 for Centerfire competition.. which is the best and accurate reloading for this pistol?..as powder Norma R1 2,5 grains no more avalable in Italy. Thank you!

R1 has not been sold here in the US for better than 10 years, so not a lot of us have any recent experience with it. It has a burning rate that is about the fastest ever made, so powder charges will be very light.

All the old links I have for this powder are dead. Sorry.

Alliant Bullseye 2.5gr. to 2.8gr.
Winchester WST 2.6gr. to 2.9gr.
All with a 148 HBWC seated flush with medium to medium heavy crimp.

Both my M52 and Colt .38 Spec. conversion shot most accurately with 3.2 gr of 700X and a Speer HBWC (now changed in design).

Hi.
Try VV N310, an exellent powder for light targetloads in .32 and .38 (and .45acp)
It`s the fastest burning powder from Vitavouri.

Clays 2.4gr with Remington 148gr HBWC
