Savage Anchutz Model 64

Post by Jwa1549 »

I am the 4H Shooting Sports instructor for our local 4H club. Recently a Savage Anchutz Model 64 was donated to the club. I would like to use it in 3 position target shooting BUT it is missing the bolt!!

Please advise me where I can find/purchase a bolt for the gun.

Thanks

Contact Champion's Choice. They probably sell more of these than anybody. Expect it to be expensive.

thank you for the response
I will try contacting Champions Choice. I did locate a bolt on Ebay. Seller states the bolt is for a Savage Anschutz Model 64 in a 22 mag. caliber for $179.00? I was unable to find a Savage Anschutz Model 64 in 22 Mag. but did find same bolt part numbers for an Anschutz 151 with the exception the bolt head part number. I think this search for a bolt may take a very long time.

If your rifle is a .22 long rifle caliber, I would not buy a .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire bolt. The head on a .22 wmr is much larger than the .22 lr.

Like NUJudge said, the bolt face is different. 22 mag boltface is .302. 22 lr boltface is .288. Best to take the time to find the correct bolt.

Some folks routinely keep the bolts separate from the rifles. Just a thought. Can you contact the donor and see if he forgot about the bolt and has it laying around somewhere, maybe in a case?
