Steyr LP10 Catch Lever Problem

Post by nemilho »

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue before with a Steyr LP10? Whenever I fire a pellet the catch lever gets stuck up, sometimes only a small amount, other times it is quite significant. I have no idea what is causing it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have uploaded a few pictures which shows the problem. Sorry for the quality, I took them using my phone.

Catch lever slightly raised after shooting (enough to stop the airgun being cocked):

Catch lever very raised after shooting

How the catch lever generally looks before firing (not sure if it should look flat or if this is normal(.

Looks like the catch lever spring is missing or broken. Steyr have a good video on replacement.

Hi, thanks for the link to the video. I followed the instructions and the spring seems to be okay - not broken, however it is the smaller version so perhaps it is not working as it should and I should source the larger spring as a replacement.

If there was no improvement after reassembly replacing with the longer spring is the way to go.
Good luck with it.

Tighten the screw ( Part #14) a little bit.

I don't think that is the solution to this problem. OP is talking about the catch lever (61) coming up, not the cocking lever (22).
