MR-73 Reloading
I recently slugged the barrels on two .32 S&W Long chambered revolvers - S&W Model 16 and Manhurin MR-73 - using soft lead spheres supplied by Dardas Cast Bullets. After returning the slugs for measuring to Dardas, the Model 16 barrel measured .3125 and therefore uses the readily available .314" minimum sized diameter bullet. However, I was
surprised to find that the Manhrin barrel measured .3149", thereby requiring a recommended .316" minimum sized bullet diameter. My concern is that .32 caliber bullets of this diameter may be difficult to find.
As not interested in casting bullets with a custom mold, I'm hoping someone can provide me with a source for quality .316" wadcutter bullets.

Re: MR-73 Reloading
Greetings,
With revolvers, the general practice is to "slug" the cylinder throats. Ideally, the throats will be the same size or, preferably, larger than the barrel groove diameter.
H&N 0.314" HBWC Match Greased bullets would be my first choice for the Manhurin. They are available from Cible Canada Targets.

These bullets will also work well in the S&W Model 16.
Cheers,
Dave

I'm interested in the H&N bullets, but the link to the Canadian company does not list this bullet. Could you provide a better link, or have they stopped supplying them?H&N 0.314" HBWC Match Greased bullets would be my first choice for the Manhurin. They are available from Cible Canada Targets.

Re: MR-73 Reloading
When I was running my MR73 , it used .314 ,everybody I know who has an MR73 run .314
I doubt you need .316 in a Manurhin they are cold forged barrels to specific tolerances .

Re: MR-73 Reloading
Can an MR-73 be had in the USA? Sorry, I have always wanted a .32 target revolver, but S&W Model 16's are very pricey collectors items. I don't know if it worth the problem compared to a .38 but I would like one. Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread.
Thanks,
Dwight

There is no situation a man and his dremel tool can't make much, much worse.
Re: MR-73 Reloading
Yes they can. Another US based targettalk member bought a new one a couple of years ago. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33237&p=165454&hili ... in#p165454
Re: MR-73 Reloading
