A little self-control goes a long way.

Ok, I found the search tools and found nothing but rambling BS, so PULLEEZE can the sarcasm.Rover wrote:Jeez, not this one again!

Here is what you need to know, not sure who posted this:
"And if you feel the need to test pellets for your peace of mind, and then feel the need to post in a public forum about it, don't be surprised when people tell you - quite publicly - that you're pissing in the wind.
I've said it to multiple shooters I know, and multiple times on this forum: wait until you break 575 in two matches in a row, then worry about testing pellets."
Now go work on your shot process and your hold! ;)

You can't find a pellet that won't hold the 10 ring on a pistol target. So, as has been said, forget about it and just practice.
Enjoy it.
Enjoy it.

To answer the OP's question.
I shoot a Steyr LP1P using RWS R10 match pellets size .177" heads and weigh 7.0 gr
Does it matter; no, it is just what I use.
I quit testing a long time ago.
I am just a 540-550 ish shooter.
Do not sweat the little things, just focus on your shot process.

Since you appear to be having difficulty using the Search function, here are some posts for your perusal:

This is by the site owner. BTW He sells Steyr air pistols.

There are probably hundreds of items on pellets. Just put in "pellets".
Similarly, just put in "air pistols".
If you care to investigate the literally hundreds of successful combinations of pellets and match guns, you'll have to do it yourself. Just rummage the ramblings or do your own testing.
PS What Clarence said.

Indeed, here we go again! I had pellets tested by Vogel (in Geramany) And, indeed again, one batch gave a one hole ten shots group.
I should have taken a picture of Mr.Vogel smiling when he saw my reaction. In the discussion afterward, Mr. Vogel confirmed that only top shots are having a benifit from selected pellets. Here we are talking about the WORLD TOP 20! Believe me, and many of the members of Targetalk: exercise your skills, watch your sights and be 'gentle' with you trigger. You won't miss the X-ring. There are many 'old timers' commenting on this forum (Rover is one of them) take advantage of their experience. They may have forgotten more about shooting then what some of us will ever know.
Enjoy your shooting.

Here's what I use in my Steyr LP10 Standard
Crosman Premier Super Match 7.9g 4.50 dia
Most find the 8/9 ring some find the 10 ring
I shoot 545/560 ( on a good day)
I have also tried RWS H&N Final Pistol
They also shoot to the 8/9 ring with about the same number finding the 10 ring
Buy them cheap $6.50 at Amazon ( free shipping )
P.S.
Also shoot these in a Walther LP400 Std. and Compact + Baikal 46m same results

LP10E RWS R-10 4,49. Honestly it does not matter, I use QY and I can tell you that if I give you gamo but told you those are RWS, you probably cannot tell anyway.

I mainly use RWS Hobbys for practise in my Baikal MP-46M or RWS R10 Match 4.5mm if I'm shooting seriously, but TBH, the way I shoot, I can't tell the difference, except the R10's get to the target a bit quicker.

John was that your original post? Sorry, I had copied the quote, printed it out and taped it to my target carrier a while back to keep myself from the pellet testing urge that was tugging at me! What brand gasoline do you use in your Porsche that you only drive at legal interstate speeds?
75 mph = 120 kph for our non US drivers.

Re: What pellets. do you use for 10M air pistol?
I will just add this. I tested a whole crap load of pellets. one it doesnt cost much more to shoot the best quality pellets. I use rws r10s. I found that not all of the cheaper pellets are the same size. you can feel this by the pressure of the cocking lever. I found h&n rifle weight pellets to be the most accurate. I did not choose thes because they spend longer in the barrel and there for exaggerate and trigger errors. the next best I found was rws r10 4.49. I use rws 4.50 because they are easier to get. I did 100 shot groups and you still needed a micrometer to tell the difference between the high end pellets. some of the lower ones you could clearly see they were of lower quality and they saved you 3 dollars per 500
Re: What pellets. do you use for 10M air pistol?
in training i use standard cheap rws cans for pistol - (my best training score 583 use this)
in competition i use rws r10 cans. (my best competition score 574 use this)

Re: What pellets. do you use for 10M air pistol?
Morini 162MI: Meisterkugeln 4.50mm for me currently.
Next order I think i'll get RWS R10s 4.49mm.
I have shot H&N Match and H&N Finale Match in the past, they are great too.
Brand and level of quality of this sort of level I think it's all much of the muchness.
I'm also of the opinion that if you're investing a lot of time and effort into the sport you should probably train and shoot the best you can afford.

I am not of this opinion. If you had looked at my pellet tests, you would understand why I'm using RWS Basic as my pellet of choice. Plus they are 1/3rd the price of the R10s, which would not be my second choice, either.
Just buy cheap pellets and shoot. It will make NO difference in your scores.
