Design considerations for pistols

Post by J »

For those interested in the design considerations for high accuracy pistols, particularly rim fire calibers, the link regarding rifles

http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=46745

to an article comparing the early Bleiker and early G&E Racer rifles has some very good discussion of these design issues. The two rifles being compared are not those in current production from either company, but the discussion of design considerations and results is very good.

Although the article is about rifles, the basic engineering issues regarding the rim fire cartridge, .22lr in particular, and the basic design of barrel, frame, and receiver or upper section all are relevant to the pistols.

The article is in Spanish. Googleoid translation is poor, but captures at least the main concepts and ideas.
