Need help with the Fort Benning Rifle National Championships

Post by TraLfaz »

My son and I are planning on going to Fort Benning for the Rifle National Champioships (air rifle) in the end of June. My questions are:

1) Fort Benning is a big place, where specifically is the air rifle range?
2) How hard will it be to get in/out of the base with an air rifle?
3) Is there anything else that we should know?
4) Are there any forms that we should fill out before hand?

Any help will be appreciated.

It's not complicated. Show driver license at gate. Rifles on base are not an issue. They won't ask, but if the guard inquires, just tell them you are going to competition at Pool Range. Air building is next to it on left side. Once on base, drive for awhile on main road and I believe you turn at first traffic light. Go left at light and take immediate left again and follow to range. It dead ends at the building. There should be a map with the program.

Even better than a PDF is... a tinyurl to it on Google maps!

Easiest directions:
Go to Columbus, GA and take I-185 South to the end. It ends at Ft. Benning. After going thru the security check point, continue on the divided highway.

After passing the golf course on the right, proceed on until you go down a hill & turn left at the traffic light on Collins Loop.
Immediately turn left again on Alamo Road.

At the shotgun ranges turn left (follow Pool Complex signs).
The 1st building on the right is the 50m range, the 2nd building is the 10 m range.
