Shooter’s Technology, makers of the Orion Scoring System, is pleased to announce “Orion at Home”. Orion at Home is intended for the individual athlete but provides the same scoring standard, ease of use, and coaching tools as the well known full version of Orion. Better still, Orion at Home smashes all previous price barriers. At $298 it is truly the worlds first and only affordable electronic scoring system. It includes the first year software license, the new Canon P-208 “Scan-tini” and your choice of air rifle, air pistol, or benchrest targets.

Whether you’re a new shooter, a skilled athlete, or an adult looking to return to the sport, Orion at Home can provide accurate analytical tools needed for your success.

Orion at Home Features:
  • Accurate: Orion at Home uses the exact same scoring standard as the full version of Orion. Athletes can train with the same scoring technology used in competitions.

Affordable: Orion at Home sells for $298. It includes the first year license to Orion, a Canon P-208 scanner, and your choice of 250 air rifle targets, 500 air pistol targets, or 100 benchrest targets.

Small and Speedy: Orion at Home was made possible by the new Canon P-208 Scan-tini. This new scanner has a small desk footprint (13” x 2” x 3”), USB powered, and scans about 6 targets a minute.

Decimal Scoring: Orion at home scores in either decimal or integers. International athletes can finally train at home using the same decimal scoring standard as used in competition.

Orion Targets: Orion at Home works with all available Orion targets, including air rifle, air pistol, smallbore, BB Gun, and benchrest.

Easy to Use: Orion’s Auto-Score technology lets you scan and score targets at the touch of a button.

Shot-Group Analysis: Orion at Home includes Orion’s popular Shot-Group Analysis feature, letting athlete see common shooting errors graphically.

Virtual Matches: Orion at Home allows you to participate in Orion’s Monthly Virtual Matches, or any other Virtual Match you are invited to join.
Orion at Home is meant for the individual athlete and as such has some limitations compared to the full version. Orion at Home users may join Virtual Matches but not host them, there is a limit to four competitors in a match, and teams are disabled. All other features of Orion are included. The annual license fee for Orion at Home is $58. Additional targets and accessories are sold separately.

I realise that it is necessary to use good quality targets for this system to work correctly. At the club my daughter and I shoot at we use Kruger 5 bull strips in a holder and an electric retrieval system. This allows for a constantly positioned aiming mark for each shot. Is it possible for this system to use those targets, as I understand that Orion use Kruger to print the 12 bull targets.

Alan,

Thanks for the question. We are always looking at new ways to expand Orion. There is no reason why Orion couldn't handle a 5 bull air rifle strip, its just something that we have to program in. We will certainly look into it for you.

Thanks,
Erik

For paper targets strips are a very popular target type at clubs over here. The NSRA our governing body for 10m AR domestically use either a 5 bull strip or a die like four corners and one in the center square target about 15cm square. As the strips allow for a constant aiming mark position they are very popular, except when using full electronic systems, although there are not too many ranges with those in the UK. This new personal system looks to be about the right sort of price for an individual to have and use at home, or to even take to the club along with a laptop. Not really an issue for AP shooters but being able to score decimal on any range you can use would be great for AR shooters.
