Final results VT Winter Postal League

Post by Peakconti »

Congratulations to Albion this year’s League Champions. Albion fired a 15777 across the season they were led by the shooting of Joe Shrader (397.1 average), Whitehall was a close second with 15762, led by Jason Pratt , (396.2), Plattsburgh came in third, 15740, led by Peter Visconti (396). Whitehall had a great run as League Champions dating back to 2001. Since the league started in 1975, Whitehall has been league champions 17 times, Burlington 12 times, Fort Ann 2 times and Covered Bridge our very first champion twice. Albion now joins that group. I suspect that completion will be close among all our top teams again next season. I have complete list of past league champions dating back to 1975 below.
The League’s top 4-P shooter this year was Joe Shrader of Albion, who had a 397.1 average he was followed closely by Jason Pratt 396.2 of Whitehall and Peter Visconti, Plattsburgh, James Cummings, Burlington 396. Our League’s top junior shooters this year were Eric Sloan of Quaker Hill, (393.6), followed by Clayton Hanson (393.5) and Ben Swanson ( 393.3) of Jamestown, and Andrew Visconti (389.30), Plattsburgh. We had two shooters fire a perfect 400 this year, Ben Swanson in week 8, and Jason Pratt in Week 10. We also had Four shooters fire a perfect standing score this year, Jason Pratt, Joe Shrader, Ben Swanson and Nate Pavolko.
The League’s top prone shooter this year was John Liska of Barrington NH (396.44) followed by Visconti (396.40) and Paul Deslierres (395.7) of Plattsburgh. Top Junior Prone Shooters was Andrew Visconti (389.9) of Plattsburgh. Our top prone score this year was fired by Deslierres and Liska (399).
For the first time we have added an Official All Star Team for our League, both first and second teams. You will find them listed below. Congratulations to our “All Stars”
Please check out the league’s Facebook page “Vermont Winter Postal League” and feel free to submit or post team photos. Please share some interesting photos from your off-season.
I want to thank everyone for a great season, we had a great turnout of both teams and individuals. We might even see a few more teams join us next season. Have a great summer, try your best to support local venues in their outdoor matches, it helps us all in the long run. Try and reach out to new individuals and youth and introduce them to the sport we all love. I look forward to hearing from you all next fall. Please keep in touch.
See you all at the Range,
Peter Visconti, League Director

Kudos to Peter for another well run Postal League. For those who complain of the headaches in organizing a League of 10-15 shooters, all at one club, think of the logistics of almost 90 shooters spread over a number of states! For those of us not lucky enough to have competed in high school or college, or able to make the Nationals in any discipline, this is as close to a "national" competition as we'll ever get...and it's fun to see how you rank relative to others outside your immediate shooting "family".

Thanks, Peter!

Yes, thank you Peter for organizing and running such a fun league. It must be an incredible amount of work.

I anxiously waited for each weeks' results and especially enjoyed participating in the matches in Plattsburgh.
