Post by kkayser »

I need LH or Symmetric Grips for High Standard 102 Citation, slant grip.

Where can I look? I have visited the sites for Rink and Fung.

Hi,

You could try Herrett grips:
http://www.herrettstocks.com
They don't list High Standard anymore, but they used to make them back in the day. If you ask them, they may still have the grip frame template.

Another option would be to get a used pair off of eBay. You may have to be persistent, but I suspect something would turn up. Even if you got a right hand set, the wood is thick enough that the thumbrest on the left panel can be filed off and reshaped to match the contour of the grip. The grip can even be re-checkered to match.
Being a lefty myself, I've done this in the past.

Given the age of the gun, you may also have good luck searching for people who sell used gun parts and grips. Might work online, or you may want to do some old-fashioned legwork and hit the gun shows.

Best Regards,
Jim

Actually, try this:

There's a ton of stuff out there if you search for used or vintage grips.

I recently bought Rink grips for my 103 Giles HS. Whatever size I bought, I probably could have gone one size larger. Just in case you go with the Rinks. I'm left handed too.
Actually the standard plastic grips don't feel too bad.

Hi Rob,

Nice set-up on your High Standard! Is that a Giles barrel?

I've heard that Herrett still makes their adjustable grips for some High Standards, such as the Victor, etc.
