Air Pistol valve seal material? Where to buy?

Post by plink182 »

I am trying to find a source of a valve seal for a homemade valve I am working on, what material is used. I have seen what looks like nylon washers but are softer. What materials are typically used? Where can sheets or a variety of sizes of this flat material be obtained?

I've made replacement Tau-7 (CO2) seals from scratch using nylon 6,6. Many pistols use O-rings, although I don't know that they use them for the firing seals. There are quite a few O-ring materials, ranging from teflon to soft buna-N nitrile.
