R I P Les Spurrier

Vale Les Spurrier, 2 Oct 2013

Les would be well known to anyone who shot 25m at SISC range, Sydney, and from various appointments as an ISSF Judge at several ISSF World Cups around the world.

Les had a heart attack last week and underwent a triple bypass last Monday, when they also replaced a mechanical heart valve from the 1980s. He had another heat attack after the op.

Not only was Les a true gentleman of the sport and a very good and enduring friend for over three decades, he was a very committed shooter, referee/judge and administrator. Wherever he is now, I hope that there is enough black powder, caps and lead balls to keep him shooting forever. Farewell, mate.
