Mini sniping anyone..?

Post by Red-feather »

I'm looking for a ssp or recoilless 10 m rifle for the game of minisniping...
Anyone else dabble in this sport..?
Would prefer a running target model as I wouldnt need the irons...
thoughts on:
FWB 300s
Walther LGR Universal
Anschutz 380
These are a few I'm considering...any others in the vintage Olympic grade that would be good options I would like to hear about..

While it was an excellent rifle in its day I would avoid the Anschutz LG 380. It is pretty much impossible to get soft parts such as breech seals and piston buffers for them. Anschutz has discontinued support for the 380 so unless you can find an aftermarket source you will be out of luck. All of the 380s out there are typically 30 years old and in many cases need these parts to be serviceable/reliable.

I know for a fact you can still get parts for the FWB 300 and I think I have heard that parts for the Walther LGR are available also.

I think the host for this forum is the man to talk to about repairing vintage rifles. In my estimates, one of the best in the USA.
