Gemini stock

I have the chance of buying a Bleiker action in a Gemini FR703 stock. I want the action but to move on the stock can it be worked to fit an Anschutz action.

Any good suggestions please, before I travel up the country to view the rifle

Yes, quite easily. The Anschutz safety catch will have to be removed so as to fit the Gemini but that's not difficult if you are careful - there's a hidden ball bearing to watch out for if you wish to preserve the mechanism. I have done it. Otherwise the 703 is designed for all the modern Anschutz round actions, though I believe an adaptor is needed for the square actions. Someone more expert than I am may like to amplify/correct this statement.

I was informed that converting the stock from Bleiker to Anschutz wasn't possible, I thought the Bleiker was slightly larger and anything that needed may be where the bolt handle locks.

It's a lot of money to agree to buy without being able to recoupe something back from a stock

What you say throws me somewhat as all my experience is confined to my own, standard 703 and Anschutz actions. I was not aware of a special Bleiker fit for the 703. For clarification, I would advise that you contact the makers of the Gemini, that is HPS Target Rifles Ltd, Gloucestershire, England. They have a website and are very helpful. Good luck.

a acquaintance (and forum member here), recently tried to do the same thing, putting a round-action Anschutz into a Gemini inletted for a Bleiker. HPS said no it wasn't possible, as even with an adaptor block the Anschutz would sit much too low in the stock. They did not consider it financially viable, and also thought it would be detrimental to accuracy.

However I think it has been done before. I have in mind a GB International who managed to fit a 1913 barrel into a SERCS/GE600 stock normally used for a Bleiker.

You aren't buying this from a Yorkshireman named John are you?

HPS do not use adaptor blocks for any of their stocks. The closest they get is an alu bedding insert for wood stocks which is bonded permanently into place. Gemini stocks are milled to fit an individual action footprint. For a Bleiker this is flat-bottomed and square edged, for an Anschutz 54 it's round. The Anschutz 2013 and Walther KK200/300 are both square-edged and flat bottomed, but different to each other, and the Bleiker. I don't think the Gemini will take a FWB action (trigger shape I think), and that is the only other round-action in large-scale production.

No it's not from Yorkshire :-) its another one I have found and its not advertised yet and much closer as well.

My spare Anschutz action is a 20 series, and a Bleiker drops straight into my current stock (MEC) from trying out a right handed one without the bolt.

It's trying to find all options available and being a leftie findings mint second hand is a tad difficult. Other option is to order new, few days away and hurt the bank account

As for the block, I have asked a friend if I can try their spare in it etc, if they still have it.

I can only hope, as the rifle is calling my name out "Bisley buy me"

I appreciate al the views, as you may have guessed I really want to buy the bleiker

Not sure about the Gemini or any modifications that it can cope with to accept the Bleiker but I do know that the Bleiker Challenger is the best target rifle Ive ever owned[and Ive owned many]Buy a barrelled action that was meant for a stock and you will have no issues!

I have a stock that Bleiker action fits but person selling the Bleiker Gemini combination wants it sold as a package not just the left handed action

I have two options left handed new Bleiker action or but the hardly used set up and sell it if I can sort out a conversion type job

As a fan of Gemini stocks, I'd say by the Bleiker and ditch the MEC. But if the MEC fits and gives good scores, the Gemini could be a leap into the dark.

I take it that keeping the 2013-MEC until you settle into the Bleiker-Gemini is not an option?
