Congratulations to Whitehall for once again taking home the Team Championship with a year end team total score of 15735. Their team was led by Jason Pratt with a 395.10 final Average. Second Place went to the Rough Riders of Plattsburgh with a Team Score of 15617, led by the shooting of Peter Visconti with a 395.20 average. Third place went to Jamestown with a Score of 15604 (just 13 pts out of 2nd) they were led by Todd Hanson 391.30.
Dan Lowe of Capital City had the overall highest 4-P Average with a 397.50. Second Place was Peter Visconti, Third Jason Pratt, Fourth Neal Lewis (Hartford) 394.70 and Pete Steffan (Whitehall) 394.60. These four shooters were less than a point apart in average. Jason led the league, average wise, for a majority of the season.
Dan Lowe (week 9) and Todd Hanson (week 3) both had the highest weekly score this year both shooting a score of 399. Dan Lowe and Frank Richards (Plattsburgh) were the only shooters to fire a perfect score in standing. In week 9 Dan decided to shoot standing instead of Sitting and Kneeling and fired a 299 in the final three stages.
This year was the first time we had a Prone Division, the competition among the top shooters was tight. The Top Shooter was Peter Visconti, who managed to go the entire season without dropping a point, ending up with a perfect 400 score. He was followed closely by Paul Deslierres (Plattsburgh Aces) who ended up with a 399.80 average and Armando Coello (Burlington) 399.33.
With regard to our final match of the season “Match 10” Whitehall took their usual place on top with a score of 1566, led by the shooting of Jim McGinis with a score of 393. Second place went to Jamestown by out shooting the Roughriders 1557 to 1552. Jamestown was led by David Alen 392 and Plattsburgh by Peter Visconti 396 (The top shooter this week). Hartford came in fourth just 8 pts behind Plattsburgh with a score of 1544, they were led by Neal Lewis 395.
The league average was a 362.3, the median score was a 375.
Our most improved shooters was the league’s youngest one Amy Visconti, of the Jr Rough Riders, who just started shooting this year her first match was a 347 Prone, and her highest was a 373 in match 9 (26 point increase in prone). Will Thouin, Marksman, was also another improved shooter in our 4-P Division 261 in his first match and 318 in Match 9, (57 point increase).
I hope to see you all next year, I am hoping that a few more clubs will join our league. We are also anticipating that the Prone Division will use the A-36 targets next year, and their scores will be used without any deduction toward their team score. This should make for some interesting results.

Postal League

Post by topclass52 »

On behalf of those of us who shot at the Capitol City Rifle & Pistol Club (Olympia, WA), thank you for your hard work in organizing the League and keeping it all flowing smoothly (at least from all outward appearances...). Running a League is not easy, especially one with almost 70 shooters spread out (literally) across the nation. Participating in the Postal League added a new element of excitement to our annual Winter League. Shooters enjoyed seeing how they "ranked" nationally for bragging rights and plan on being back next year. Now if we can just figure out how to get Dan on the line on a regular basis, along with a couple of his Junior teammates....
