new to pcp idea

Post by mru »

Here goes. new to forum, not new to 10m air pistol. Currently shooting a fwb C-10 (co2 / 200+ shots per fill) and fwb 65. I injured my wrist a few years ago and now find the forward weight of the C-10 and the cocking of the fwb 65, hurts! Went to the airgun store and held a fwb p-44 and picolo and found them to be very light/easy to hold. Much different than what I have now. If anything, they almost felt too light. Problem is I am well past my peak earning years and need to fund this pcp experiment as cheaply as possible. If I were to purchase the p44 or a walther club, both with long cylinders, how many viable shots per cylinder fill could I expect? And further, if I used a Hill hand pump, how long would it normally take, in minutes, to top off or fill up the cylinder? Since I take the time most days to ride my bicycle for the exercise it provides, I am not opposed to a session of pumping, providing it is not taking so much time that it becomes tedious. Thanks

I've filled up a rifle cylinder from empty in about 10 minutes including time to allow the pump to cool. From a match I can recharge it from 70 Bart to full in approximately 5 minutes.

mru;

Welcome to the forum.
I shoot an Steyr LP1.
When fully charged to 200 BAR and shooting the 60 shots plus sighters it only takes 30 pumps from my Hill hand pump to get it back .

Come out to PRGC this Wednesday for the Desert midwinter .

I will be there for the Free pistol and then shoot Air pistol after.

Why would you buy an expensive pump when you can buy a SCUBA tank cheaply off Craigs List?

Of course, you may prefer to exercise.

Rover;

Why not buy a good pump once and be done with it.
No need for a tank and having it refilled.

You and I both know that 30 pumps is not going to kill you...
Well maybe you : )

I have Steyr LP10 and Gehmann 4-stage pump.
After shooting around 70 to 100 shots it takes like one minute to fill it up to 200bar. I wouldnt call that an excercise :D
