Front sight colored
Can the front sight of a 50 meter free pistol be colored. Such as maybe green. I was unable to find it in the rule book. I do not know if I want to but would like to know if it is possible. Maybe fiber optic even. This rule does not say no. 8.4.2.3. Has anybody run into this. Thanks
can you - yes
would you - why?

Many people have tried various colours, but all seem to come back to black.
All ISSF 10, 25 and 50m firing points are covered. For non-ISSF use where you might not be shootiing from a shaded firing point, there could be an 'advantage', but the colour would depend on the individual shooter's preference.

An old guy in a competing club has been doing this for years.
He's made a frontsight from transparent red plastic.
It almost seems to glow in the dark......
I've felt the temptation to copy this for a long time :-)
My present sight is homemade from black plastic.
So it's just a matter of finding a piece of suitable material.
Maybe a broken tail light from a car would be suitable?
