Minor flying alone

Post by rifleshooter3 »

Do any airlines allow minors to fly with an air rifle or smallbore alone? If so, do you mind attaching their current rules for reference? Thanks!!

Each airline is different. Go to their websites.

In general, traveling with an air rifle is OK. many travel this way to Winter airgun & spring airgun.

Traveling with a smallbore rifle is usually not ... an adult must accompany the firearm. United used to be the exception ... again check their website.

A real pain for JOs

Go to airline websites and check them out.Delta was ok a couple of years ago.

Also it pays to check out check bag costs for a rifle case.

look under sporting equipment to see if they let you check a rifle case without the oversize penality. If not it adds a lot to cost of flying because the oversize charge is added for both trips.

try to have gear bag as one checked bag (watch weight keep under 50lbs.)
Rifle case as second checked bag.
carryon with clothes etc.

Good Luck
