Shooting diary
I've been meaning to start a shooting diary for quite some time but never seam to get it off the ground.
Two questions for all of you who do keep a journal:
What do you record on your diary?
What items do you find most helpful when you read it back?
Thanks

You should record things like goals, objectives, performances and outcomes and evaluations of your training session or competition.
Look at it as a tool to help you progress and one for you to track your progress with regards your training plan. So you should have goals for every session or match and you record them before the session and review them at the end. Scores are not really important because in themselves they don't mean much.

For me, the shooting log (not into the whole "dear diary" confessional aspect of calling it otherwise) was instrumental in building my shot process by being able to work through each step and modify until best results were achieved. Also, noting background information such as how much sleep I got the night before, what and when I had eaten, and even what the room temperature and lighting was at helped over time ... e.g. learning that eating a large meal or skipping lunch leads to bad practice results.
If nothing else, it will introduce a level of consistency to your approach to practicing, which will have an effect in and of itself.
Boa sorte!
