is there a 22lr conversion barrel for the Walther osp?

I was shooting my osp and a S&W 41 today and tried the 41s mag in the osp, perfect fit. just needs the back notch filed into it so the mag lock will work.
Got me thinking the way the pistol is set up all I would need is stronger springs and a barrel chambered for 22LR.

Since I have a GSP trigger group already is there someone out there that makes a 22lR barrel that will fit the OSP?
I dont have access to a GSP to see if the barrels will swap.

If your OSP frame is not one of the "round barrel" or very early GSP models, then the frame unit is the same and a standard GSP 22 or even a 32 top unit will slide right on and lock in. Round barrels are unique -no chance of an upgrade, and early GSPs may need magazine modifications to fit.

If I remember correctly there is some difference in the configuration of the uppers for 22 short vs 22LR and a simpe barrel and bolt swap would not be possible. You could purchase a complete GSP upper but that's the guts of the pistol and you would still have a complete OSP upper.

Didn't the OSP have the rear sight further back to take advantage of the "box size only" maximum sight radius?

If I'm right then that would need to be addressed to avoid going over length on the sights for a 25m pistol.

The OSP upper did have the rear sight further back. The normal route is to just get an entire GSP upper and put it on your frame.

or move the front sight back - most of the conversions I have seen got the 220mm this way (i.e. the conversion to .22LR can be done, but you have to be an 'enthusiast').
