A Pardini .32 would be an obvious first choice but they're just too front heavy for me.

You can remove the front weights from the pardini. That´s about 60g off the front.

I recently purchased a FAS602. I purchased a repair kit as well as a couple extra magazines from the Company's founder's son in Italy (thx to a referral o this forum). Prices were reasonable and service excellent.

Just fyi, my FAS is more front heavy than my Pardini (with all barrel weights in), plus the FAS with iron sights weighs 42oz, the Pardini with a dot sight and all the front barrel weights installed is 38oz. I really like the FAS, but couldn't see it as a replacement for the Pardini. Old v new.

Thanks for the input, I was wondering if there were any specific problems, slides or frames cracking, barrels wearing out (602 barrels seemed soft) magazine issues.

When I was shooting 603s (heavy use) the only springs that didn't get changed annually were the magazine springs, the magazine ejection spring, the magazine catch spring and the rear sight spring. ALL others, including the ones in the hammer and trigger boxes, were changed as a matter of course.

The recoil buffer and clip were changed every 6 months.

The magazine lips needed to be re-set every couple of months (or so).

The barrels came out of the factory at .308, but would happily handle .311-.312 soft lead Lapua or Geco bullets with great accuracy.

The 603s (and 602s) needed loads of TLC, but it was well worth the effort.

And mine. I have a few CF guns ( a lot really ) and my FAS 603 is one of my favourites.

Light-weight, fantastic point-ability. I have a RH shoulder problem at the moment so struggle shooting an entire CF match with a front-heavy gun like a Pardini or Manurhin Match revolver but I don't have the same fatigue problem with a 603.

I bought my 603 second-hand, and had it cerakoted in Midnight Blue - it looks amazing.

The advantage of the cerakote costing is, apart from improving the cosmetics, is it's natural lubricity and it's ability to reverse wear on internal components.
