Walther - Anschutz Accessories Interchange?

Post by NMC_EXP »

There does not seem to be many Walther target rifles in the US, and accessories such as sights and handstops are scarce.

Question: Will Anschutz sights and handstops fit a vintage Walther? Specifically a UIT Match made in the mid 1980's?

Thanks

Jim,

An Anschutz rearsight should fit a Walther action. Not sure about foresights though, although I think you can.

Anschutz handstops should fit a Walther rail, but not the reverse. Walther rifles had a true dovetail rail, not the T-slot that Anschutz use.

Dovetails can be different... worth checking they fit first.

I've never put any thing other than a Walther sight on any of ours but the old and new rear sight dovetails are the same. The Walther fore sight dove tail is smaller both the old and new are the same size and you can only fit sights with that dovetail.
The old rail such as yours as Tim says is an angled dovetail and you will need to file off the edges of the rail fitting of any accesory made for the Anschutz T slot fitting.
I shoot modern Walthers in both air and smallbore but have my Swing 7.62 (.308W) fitted in the old UIT Match prone stock.
Good Shooting
