Gehmann See-through Rear Sight

Post by mobarron »

Has anybody used the Gehmann See-thru rear sight? I'm currently using the Anschutz 7020 and the older Anchutz Int'l. Both block my vision of down-range wind flags and I'm wondering whether the Gehmann is any better. Mike Barron

I tried one of the earlier iterations of the Clearview sight and came to the conclusion that it was a case of love it or hate it. I "hated" it but fortunately had bought it second hand and found no shortage of people ready try it out. It had had a fair number of owners before me and I know it changed hands again afterwards. Maybe it found a permanent home or it might just be languishing in the bottom of someone's box.

The short answer is not many seemed to like it and you will never find out until you try one.

Mike,

I picked up one of the older Gehmann sights late last year. liked being able to see wind flags through it, but the rear aperture faded in strong light. I had the sa,e probelm with the British-made Panoramic/Duguid sight previously.

If you want to try one, and get over the trans-atlantic logistic issues, PM me.
