Is this a good deal..Browning buckmark

Post by Xman »

I have locally found lightly used Browning Buckmark at a shop for 399.00 with 1 mag and plastic case.

It has a full rail and is the 5.5" barrel model with contour grips.

If I pull the trigger on this deal I will replace the grips (eventually) with ones I will design from scratch but patterned on the IZH 46 I have.

I was wanting a Sig Trailside/Xesse but the seller is not so local and seeking in the 500+ range.

Opinions?

I have a friend who has one and loves it.

The only problem I know of is that the trigger sucks and there doesn't seem to be much that can be done with it. Maybe a good smith....?

For the same money (or less) you could get a Ruger. Then you could put in a Volquartsen trigger. It would then be fully competitive.

That was what I paid last summer for a new in the box Buckmark URX. It is fun and accurate but I do not like the trigger, even with the spring flip.

It does not seem like a steal to me.
