Haemmerli International Pistol Help Requested

Greetings,

I have the opportunity to purchase a Haemmerli International in 22lr. I was hoping someone reading this can help me identify which model it is.

It has a long barrel, about 7", with a muzzle brake.

There is a long removable barrel weight that clamps underneath the barrel.

The grip has an adjustable palm rest.

The serial number is 20400.

I suspect it is a 200 series pistol; but, I am not that well versed with this gun.

Additionally, I can imagine parts are rather difficult to come by.

Any information would be most appreciated.

They are well made, Larrys Guns in Maine, has parts. I just serviced the "American" model last week . Single stage trigger with no screw adjustments, but shot tight.

Sounds like the old Hammerli=Walther Olympia I shot in the 1960's. It had a very thin long barrel with weight hung underneath. When I was younger it was an excellent gun with a nice crisp trigger and very reliable with SV ammo (I used the 1960's Remington Kleanbore at that time). As I got older I opted for less muzzle weight and went first to a Walther GSP and finally to a Pardini SP.

The model pictured on the Rock Island auction site is a much newer model than the one I shot in the 1960's. The earlier models had the rear sight mounted on the slide.

Probably a model 207 if it has a target grip. These also had a lever safety on the frame, and a Colt-style push button magazine release. Some, but not all, are marked American Model.

Saw one last fall, nice pistol for NRA style shooting, not ISSF legal. They have a single stage trigger. A few good points is that they take the 208 magazines and grips. The rear sight block is also like a 208. Larry's in Maine has parts.

On most of the 207 guns, the standard 208 magazine will fit, but will not work because they are missing the slot into which the magazine retainer pin must fit. Larry's Guns magazines have this precut, and are a good fit. It can be cut into the 208/215 magazines as well. Those sold in Europe, by and large, used the standard rear of grip retainer clip, and do not need this.

I owned one of these pistols about twenty years ago, and for all intents and purposes, it was a 208 with a longer barrell that had a spacer in the magazine allowing it to shoot shorts.

I think the 22 s model was called the 210, and was as described above.

Also, the muzzle break was a little different ... Fewer deflector openings or fins.
