In order to mount a NF 8-32x56BR scope on a vintage (of the best era) Anschutz Match 54 22RL (dovetail for diopter only), I got a BKL-354 4" Long Cantilever with 1-5/8" Clamping Length.
There is no such scope here around, and NF does not publish dimensions other than mount and overall lengths. I wonder whether the very low rings of such BKL afford space enough for the bottom of the turrets, protruding from the 30mm tube. It would not be enough for a Zeiss, for example.
Does anyone know how much space is taken by the turret bottom? Also the other dimensions would be useful, to check that the scope does not come too close to the eye.
If the turret bottom takes more space than available on the cantilever, an alternative is a BKL 11mmDovetail_to_weaver adapter. However, that would place the scope even higher than the cantilever (which already places the bigger lens .25" above the barrel).
Should my two readers be surprised that I want to spend so much money in a scope, I am interested in Olympic shooting, short and long-range shooting with such a 22RL (I have all interchangeable equipments of the gun era). Such NF scope allows internal 50 MOA, which AFAIK should be enough for 300y with a 22RL with fast cartridges. That would allow me short- and long-range without changing the mount. Is any cheaper scope for that (without changing the mount)?
Thanks
