FWB muzzle tube removal?

Post by C.Opalewski »

First I want to thank you guys (and girls) for all the help with my previous posts. My scores are finally improving once again.

My question is regarding the factory made weight/tube that the front sight is mounted to on a FWB 700. Can it be removed to help balance the rifle? It looks like the barrel sleeve has a dovetail cut into it but it appears different than the one on the weight. If sights can be mounted on the sleeve, what kind of changes would I have to make to keep the same sighting line that i currently have?

I've never heard of anyone doing this. In a previous post, I mentioned that I suffer from a chronic low n.p.a. I added weight to the rear and I passed an equipment check with only 100g to spare for the total weight restriction.

Thanks for your help,

Charlie

Which version of the P700 are you shooting?
The universal version weights can be removed I am not sure about mounting provisions on the aluminum version with the weights removed.
My P70 has the dovetail machined into the barrel, might be the same on your P700 and just covered by the weights.
