steyr Vs morini winners
I found this site that lists them all-gold silver and bronze but does not say what gun was used.

Morini, Pardini, Steyr, Walther, MG, etc are all terrible guns if they don't suit you.robinhoods wrote:Someone told me the Pardini was just as good.
Morini, Pardini, Steyr, Walther, MG, etc are all fantastic guns if they do suit you.
The most important words in those two sentances are "suit you".
You might however be interested in this site.
The other important factor that was left out was that most guns can be made to suit you, especially with modern air pistols. They are highly adjustable, there are multiple grip options (which are adjustable and can be altered, triggers are adjustable for weight, travel, position ect). The pistols are light so weight can be added where you want it if required, sights are adjustable.

air pistol
David thanks
I just wanted to know what pistol most would have in their hand when they walk up to that table.
In the pistols it's the morini and rifles it's anshutz and feinwerkbau.
thanks again

Morini ve Steyr
If you watch the world cup videos, there are more Steyrs on the AP line, and more Morinis on the FP line. However, I do not know what the medal count might be for each.

Remember that includes the cartridge pistols. I think you'll see it's Steyr for AP.robinhoods wrote:In the pistols it's the morini

I would guess that, apart from the inherent qualities of the guns, sponsorship and the depth of support probably count for something. No serious athlete would put himself at a disadvantage for the sake of a sponsor, but if the guns are of identical potential then the deciding factor may be the availability of free equipment and degree of customization. This might give a larger company like FWB or Steyr a disproportionate presence compared to Morini.
A better indicator might be competition at lower levels where sponsorship doesn't bias the selection. Of course, at lower levels there may be a bias on the basis of price which would favor Morini AP over Steyr.
Heck - I'm just gonna shoot what I got.

Ok, trivial I know but:
Does anyone know what pistols were used to win both mens and womens air pistol at the 1988 Seoul Olympics? (Before Steyr and Morini came on to the scene).
Men - Kiriakov used ??? (I have a feeling that it was a Hammerli)
Women - Sekaric used ???
Also, of interest is 2 Gold Medals in Mens air pistol for Pardini. 1996 (after the famous oxygen debt 5.9 by Wang on his last shot gave it to Di Donna) and 2000.

air pistol
OK I see where I made my mistake.
In air pistols it's Steyr by a mile-
thanks David
way down to second in medals is Walther.
Well I almost bought the Morini from Pilkguns but I don't have enough right now for the steyr-only $1600 in the air gun bank-It would take me 3 weeks to get to $2600-so it looks like I will wait.
thanks

If you want a pistol for serious shooting (rather than just collecting) then please don't buy one just because some top shooters use them.
It might be the best pistol for you, but it might not be.

I used to listen to here every night-When she was very young her mother wanted her to go into Ballet and she found a book about piano and started by herself at first. She does all those videos for free.
Her husband is a Pianinst also.

Well rather listen to people who say that they have the best and they all say it-I would rather just walk down the line and that will tell me what most people who know what they are doing believe is the best

Re: air pistol
I'm at about $1600 in the gun bank right now but within 9 or 10 days I will be up to $2450-I see some guns pop up once in awhile and some are fairly new and some go way back. If I was interested in used-how far back is ok. I don't think more than two years,am I wrong. I am talking about the steyr or the Walther or maybe even a Pardini. If I buy new it will be from Pilkguns-they are the nicest peopleDavid Levene wrote:....it's Steyr shooters by a mile.robinhoods wrote:In air pistols it's Steyr by a mile-

I just do not understand your concept. Why do you need a Stienway Piano to learn how to play if money is still an issue for you?

The money is an issue right now but I have enough to buy used.Russ wrote:I just do not understand your concept. Why do you need a Stienway Piano to learn how to play if money is still an issue for you?
I can put $560 into the gun acct every two weeks.
thats money that I don't need for anything else-just play money.
I have bought a lot of guns but mostly springers-including the 65's and 80's-K58 and FWB 100. I never charge anything and have not in the last few years-so I save and pay cash for everything-I just don't have the $2500 right now and I thought the morini was just as good .If steinways are the steyrs then I already had the Baldwins (FWB-65 -80 etc).
I think you are talking $1100 difference between the morini-$1700 and the Steyr $2500 e.
