Gang - I seem to recall there was a preference for the late model Hammeril 280 over the earlier ones.
Can anyone tell me how to identify a later model and a basis for the preference?
Thanks!

The top of the early 280 is fitted to the frame by two fixed pins. The later model has a screw in the front into the slide spring guide to hold the top to the frame.
The later model is a little stiffer in the frame and trends not to throw the first shot a little out of the group.
A frame stiffner milled out of alloy that screws to the barrel weight holes was a after market mod that fixed this and improved the groups of both models.
Biggest problem with the 280's now......parts.
