Help!

This is a pretty wide open request for help.
If you look down in the buy sell trade section of this forum there are a few precision air rifles for sale and the occasional rifle. I guess you are aware that you will also want shooting jacket, pants, glove, sling etc. all the go with ISSF/USAS rules.
While you consider this jump, is there a program in your area? First, they would be able to give you hands on help that you cannot get from a forum such as this and also, getting all the gear isn't much fun if there is not some activity in your area. Plus, this stuff is expensive!!! Tough to get started in something if you have to trek long distances to even train.
If there is no local precision program but others in your sporter program are interested in the upgrade then you can all work together to develop your own program. This stuff is way more fun when you have someone to shoot against. Building your own precision program up from a sporter program is a little tougher than joining a program with a few veterans but it can be done.
Good Luck!!!

Listen to what 'Dude told you' and I will add this. The most important thing you need is good coaching. I went up with my son last year to a match in DePere WI. They had a lot of excellent coaches who helped my son out immensely. He also has a great coach locally. I couldn't be happier. It's just not coaching, it is the support he gets. He shoots with older gents who have supplied him with a lot of freebies, shooting jackets, cases of ammo, barrels ect. To all these people, I am eternally grateful.
