About to Order a Scatt
Hopefully next week I am going to order a Scatt for home training.
Before I place the order and as they are not exactly cheap, does anyone who has bought one regret it.
If so why

Nope. I don't use mine personally very much but for coaching it's very useful - and rifle especially. For doing some shooting training when you can't get to the range it's equally valuable, and whilst dry firing is equally useful, it can add an extra dimension to home training - which lets face it, can get boring if you don't have the right mindset.

Hi Rob,
I agree with what you are saying, home training is very boring.
I have never been able to do it in the past, but having returned to rifle shooting after an 18 year layoff I hope it will help me get back to my previous form.
My only concern is that there is very little information out there, of how to use and interpret the information from the system.
All I know is that once I do get it I will probably be posting a lot of question about the kit

Hi Kenny,
Although I went up to Bisley for the day I did not manage to get to see Barry Nesom.
However I spoke to him this week and today I posted a cheque off to him with my order.
Hopefully I will receive it soon.
Thanks for the offer of buying my Scatt if I dont get on with it. Time will Tell Lol

I have not regretted buying a Scatt (half a year ago now) but there are issues with it.
The web site could have a much bigger FAQ section. Problem solving right now means asking questions on different forums (like this one) because basically no information can be found there. I like the uploaded files though (they are old but interesting to see anyway)
It's time to make the system cordless now. Cables weigh so to keep the same weight with the Scatt you have to alter the guns setup.
More freedom to choose the layout during shooting and analysis (have several tabs/windows open at the same time etc)
There should be options to export data to excel for further analysis (or if it exists, I haven't found it)
Despite all this I still like it and use it almost every day, so as far as training equipment goes, it's a good buy.

I use our club one for air rifle coaching and our own use for analysis. We have got so much out of it we are buying one for home use for air and prone. We have solved problems in minutes that are otherwise difficult to identify, I would heartily recomend them.
Hi Rutty
I have just picked up the use and anlysis by experience, and from the MEC rifle books, but I would love to be a bit more savvy with them if you have experts on the beast. Can you contact me when you run a course please? Are they one day jobs? robin.carter80@ntlworld.com
