disposing used pellets ?

Post by toddinjax »

Hi all,

What do you do with your used pellets? Do I need to take them to my local hazardous waste drop off or can they just go out in the trash in a plastic grocery bag?

Interesting little discussion about the subject here:

I just throw them away myself, but sometimes give them to a friend who sells the lead.

We have adults sweep them up and then collect them in containers and give them to adult members who cast bullets or fishing sinkers.

The less the kids are exposed to the lead the better. And all who touch the lead in any form should keep their hands away from their face and wash their hands after handling.

Scrap them! The scrap/recycling center that I use pays approximately .50 cents per pound. Helps buy more pellets.

They get stirred into the pot and become 45 wadcutters at my house!

I take all my scrap lead and brass to a scrap metal dealer.

Any of the suggestions above are good ones.

Being on good relations with a reloader who makes their own bullets is good [ especially if you can shoot his/her guns/ammo ].
