I did spend a fair amount of time searching on Google, Ebay etc. for these batteries, and had little luck. I question the supply chain and hence ordered the three. My last one was good for three years of moderate use.
I thought you bought a new CM84E, in which case the electronics should use AAA cells. They haven't used the 15V battery in a long time. If you got it used, welcome to the club of Morini battery refugees...
The Morini adapter is interesting. Does anyone in the US sell them?
I usual find McMaster Carr to have good prices on coin cells. They want $1.27 for the SR54's:
By comparison, Amazon wants $3.54, and Radio Shack wants $5.99.
I've had OK luck getting coin cell / button batteries on eBay, but a lot of places are selling stuff that's out of date, or they sell the alkaline version claiming it's "equivalent" to the silver version. Caveat Emptor.
Unless someone says that the microbattery.com offering is *not* 100mAH, I'll probably skip the EBay battery and go with microbattery.com.

I don't know which one is not 100mAH, but the 2 batteries definitely appear to be identical. I have purchased directly from Batteries-in-a-flash a couple of times without any problems. They must have recently gotten in this batch because the item was not available there a few months ago. Buy a couple - then you get (at least) 120mAH for the same price as an alleged 100mAH ;>)
I definitely bought a new CM84E (from Neal Stepp at ISS, great guy), and it uses the 15v A220 battery. Also, if it's any indication, the Morini website says "1 x 15v" in the CM84E specs.
I think I'll order a few A220/504's from microbattery.com, since it claims 100mAH. Heck they're just the cost of a box of Eley Match (oh no!). If it seems to have less life than the original battery that came with the gun, then I'll order something else the next time.
Yes, the adapter "can" is very interesting. If anyone finds out about availability, please tell us!
The adapter appears to have been first announced in the February ISSF magazine, so it's pretty new. I suspect Neal Stepp will get some in eventually.
The good news is that the 15V batteries last a LONG time. I think I shot the one that came with my pistol for at least a couple of years. Free pistol is a seasonal thing for me, so if you shoot a lot year round, they clearly won't last as long.
After recently putting my 84e away in my safe with the circuit left running (the second time in the past three years or so...dammit), I decided to re-pack an old Varta V74PX cell. It is perhaps not as pretty looking as Morini's adapter, but apart from a couple of bits of electricians tape, it is essentially the same thing. I purchased 50 (!) AG10 / 389 / LR1130 / SR1130 / LR54 (take your pick: they are essentially all the same thing) button cells online for the princely sum of $5. Ten are stacked in the plastic tube which was inside the battery and the other forty I have vacuum packed with a bit of desiccant and have placed in my refrigerator.
It works fine with the battery-test LED hardly blinking from a dry-fire.
It may have fewer mAh than the German-made Varta original, but at that price I'm not complaining.
www.microbattery.com advertised a 100mAH version of this battery, somewhat pricey but I am curious about the higher mAH rating. I ordered some, but after 5 weeks of emails from them "trying to find a new supplier", I think this is vaporware.
www.batteriesinaflash.com had the standard 60mAH version for US$7 + shipping. When I confirmed the order, they said that they are assembling these themselves (I'll guess from 10 x 1.5v batteries like the previous posters referenced) and had plenty in stock. They shipped same day and I had them in a few days. The battery works fine in my CM84E.
www.iss-internationalshootersservice.com Neal Stepp said that he ordered "a small bunch" of the newly advertised Morini battery exoskeletons. It may take some months to arrive, but I've staked claim to one of that bunch. These do look like they will save some angst.
I just got two packs of 10 brand new Varta V74PX just by walking into a normal electronics shop and asking them - they ordered, and two days later I had them. It's actually written on the packaging that they contain 10 LR54 cells each. So they have to be in production somewhere, the to-be-sold-by date is February 2014.
