Lubricating rearsights

Post by KennyB »

OK, I think I know what the answer is going to be - but I'll ask anyway...

I have a couple of Anschutz 6805 rearsights and a 7002 - all a few (7) years old. Last time I had them tested they all seemed backlash free and moved positively.
Is there a recommended procedure/lubricant to lubricate the threads and slides or should I just leave well alone?

Thanks,
Ken.

Trouble is Kenny any lubricant is going to act like a magnet and attract all kinds of crap to stick to those slides/threads.I tend to just make sure mine are clean and don't lubricate. It's more of a temptation to lubricate on the 6805 sights as you can see the threads.I have never seen the Anschutz service team at Bisley use anything on the sights when they check/overall them.Colin
