Modifying T200 Bolt to Left Hand Use

Post by texasairguns »

I am interested in getting my son an Air Arms T200. He shoots left handed. I read somewhere on this board that it might be possible to mount the bolt to operate on the left side. However, the vendor salesman said he wasn't familiar with this. Has anyone done this or modified the bolt so it could be operated from the other side (I know the operation will be upside down but I can live with that)?

Any thoughts are appreciated. We don't have a T200 in our club that I can look at physically.

T200 Lefthanded bolt

Is possible BUT

Work upside down... Not possible to modify action
You have to cut some wood away from the stock.

We found that the shooters adapt quickly to cross over to the right side to close the bolt.

Push with left thumb on the rear of the bolt to close the action and then drop the lever with index finger or even the thumb.

When using the shoulder height rifle rest: then you load with the front hand in any case, so then closing the bolt with the right hand is easy for lefthanded shooter
