bullet types, cast lead or copper plated?

Post by Chris_D »

When I use to reload many years ago, I used moly-lubed cast lead bullets (.38 wadcutters). When I ordered a new press from Dillon, I also ordered some bullets and what I got were copper plated bullets.

I started looking around and found that there are more choices of bullets that I remember from the past. What are you guys using these days and where do you get them from?

I was using any different cast bullets fron variuos placed was was pretty much unhappy with the quality of the castings. I had heard good things about Zero Bullets but at the time I needed so Zero was in backorder with almost all bullets, it since has changed. I tried Magnus Bullets (swaged) and love them. The quality and weight variance has been outstanding along with the customer service.

My 2 cents, Zero or Magnus swaged or for the .38 special Remington HBCW's are messy but cheap and great shooting in all my .38's.
