smallbore rifle clubs in the LA area?

Post by Senji »

Im new here and to the world of smallbore rifle and would like to learn and possibly compete at the club level. Is there such thing here in Los Angeles? Ive got an Anschutz 1807 which I shoot informally, but would like to be coached.. Ive checked out LA rifle and revolver club, but it seems like they mainly cater to the aspiring Olympian and they are all young and very serious. Could be wrong though. Im 31, and hold a steady job, so training day 7 days a week isn't feasible for me. More like 2-3 days a week. I can't seem to find something that is in between public range plinking and Olympic level. Can anyone point me to the right direction?

Thanks, Senji.

I shoot at the LARR (Los Angeles Rifle and Revolver club) in El Monte CA. It happens to be the USAS Regional Training Center http://www.larrclub.org/

That's great. Are you a junior? I can't seem to find on their website any beginner training for those older than 21.

Yes I am a junior. The "Junior Division" has juniors that are in their 40s! We all have a lot of fun.
