Walther SSP - Barrel loose?

Post by aakoksal »

Hi,

A question for those who own a Walther SSP...

I noticed today while cleaning the gun that barrel has a slight move where it is fixed in the slide...

Not sure if this is something I didn't notice before, or if it is something new... What worried me is that when slide is closed, if you push the barrel inwards, it actually pushes the slide a bit as well...

Thanks,

Akin

The barrel is held in with a clip and there is a little play. Very small, you can feel it more than see it in mine.

Has anyone dismantled the barrel from the shroud with this clip?

I haven't, haven't really seen the need to. Unless you're putting in a new barrel can't really see why one would want to remove it.

User's manual suggest user not to remove the barrel. They recommend a gunsmith to do so.

Clip moves with the barrel, which makes me think that this is how it is designed... It is just that I've never noticed this...

Thanks for responding...
