Question on slings

Post by silentfury214 »

Hello,
I have been shooting 3p air rifle now for around 6-8 months and was wondering about slings. I can currently shoot 90-95 consistently in prone and 85-87 in kneeling without a sling and glove. I am shooting the daisy 853 and am trying to upgrade to the 887. How much of an increase would i see if i started using a sling and glove?
Thanks!

Would you start using a sling, even if it only gained you 1 point?

I know with an 853 a sling in prone is a hassle, but it WILL make your position more stable ... thus a few extra points.

Sporter is a game with the sharks these days ... one or two points can move you from 10th to 1st ... or the other way around if you drop a few.

Unless my sporter shooters are small, I have them shoot the 887 .... it's a great rifle.

In the meantime, strap on the sling and shoot a few points higher ... :-)

sling can only help

In my opinion the sling and glove can only help if used properly. Strap up and shoot some tens!
