Shooting sweaters
I use at least two as they serve to dampen the pulse beat transmitted to the rifle. For ISSF just up to the allowable limit. In hot weather I dampen them before going up on the firing line and the evaperation helps for cooling. Try to find a couple that do not have seams that interfere with your firing position. More important though for heat control, I use a climacool t-shirt. There are numerous shooting specific ones and complex types like 'body armour' etc, but I've got more fundamental problems to work on before I look at the highly technical under-clothing.

I use a Thune Coldwinner top. Excellent bit of kit. The elbow padding is brilliant and it keeps you comfortable in both very hot and cold weather. Also, just having a dedicated underlayer is a good plan, whereas it might otherwise be a tshirt in summer or a heavier top in winter. This works properly all year round.

Just bought one at Camp Perry and started using it. I like the idea it can zip open to cool off! (rather than a sweatshirt that has to pulled off completely) One of the cons for me is that it has a collar (goes up the neck a bit), rather than an open neckline. Zipped all the way up, it chokes me (hate anything around my neck, the jacket itself is bad enough!). Zipped down a bit and the zipper teeth are also annoying at the neckline. Gonna tack the top open with a few stitches I think.
Also will use a long sleeved t-shirt or such underneath. Although the elbows are nicely padded by two layers of knitting, the ribbed pattern is still a bit annoying.
