Extension Tube for Air Rifle?

Post by talladega »

I use a Steyr LG100 and I'm thinking I would like to get a sight extension tube.

What do you all recommend?

I found this one by MEC. http://www.edinkillie.co.uk/ecatalog/me ... Path=44_20

Also is there any rules I have to be concerned about if I get one?

I have another question not related to an extension tube but there isn't much point in make a new thread.... Is there a maximum height that I can raise my sights using riser blocks?

I have looked at the ISSF rule book and I just cant understand most of it. It says one thing while other people say and do another thing. Maybe I read it wrong.

Thanks...

Maximum overall length of barrel and system 850mm

Maximum distance from centre of bore to centre of front sight ring 60mm

ISSF rule Book 2009 7.2.4.6 page 291 and table 7.2.4.7 page 292

ISSF Rule Book 2009 Table 7.9 page 309

Hope that this helps

With that 850mm I'm not totally sure where I need to measure from.

I found a good pic of the gun I have and marked out where I think I'm supposed to measure from. Can you tell me if this is correct?

Thanks.

You've got it talladega, muzzle to rear of the "action".

Talladega .... your drawing seems to look like you've marked the back of the rear sight....
Ruddy is correct, it is to the rear of the "system".

Where the rear sight is does not matter ... if you've got a rulebook handy, look at the drawing in 7.4.2.6

Oh... yeah I figured that is about where the 'system' ends. I know it isn't to do with the rear sight.

I measured my gun and its about 840mm - 845mm or so. So I guess I can't get an extension tube.
