Anschultz 22 barreled action Ser#183488 is it a 1913 or 1813

Post by tschrader »

Just purchased an Anschultz 22 barreled action with serial #183488. Is this a model 1913 or older model 1813? There is no model # on the receiver or barrel.

Any advice on confirming which model this is would be appreciated.

I could not tell you by the serial # but if it's the original barrel and it has a front sight base screwed on it is an 1813. If the barrel is original and it is grooved it is the 1913. That is the only major difference I know of.

1913 or 1813?

Post by tomschrader »

Thanks for info on differiating the actions. My barrel was shortened and Bloop tub added so there is no way to tell if it was dovetail or parallel grooved for the original front sight. The remainer of the barrel is round. The rear action does have grooves on its top for mounting the rear sights. Do these rear grooves determine the model?

Tom,
Your rifle's serial number is lower than my rifle, which is an 1800 series rifle. Logic dictates that yours is also an 1800.
