Excuse the dumb question. I'm a newby on shooting sports. I bought a Daisy Avanti 499B and it came with a sling with only one swivel and one stud screw and no instructions on how to install it. Am I missing parts or am I suppose to use only one swivel only or what? And where to drill the hole for the swivel? Any help appreciated.

First, Order the adjustable sights from Daisy, Next find a way to increase the total weight to just under six pounds.Have your shooter assume the prone position with the stock firmly in the shoulder and the support hand under the fore end. Mark where the hand is located with the arm at a thirty degree angle from the support surface.Drill the hole not more than an inch forward of the hand position. Finally, take a saw and cross hatch that portion of the butt that is placed against the shoulder to reduce slipping. Last, Post a target and start teaching the youngster to shoot tens. In addition, check length of pull. If the gun is too long, drill 2 holes about 2-1/2" to 3" apart from the butt end towards the reciever. Make the hole pilot sixe for any long common screw like a drywall screw. Save the piece you cut off for future growth, the holes will give a good alignment if you ever want to put it back on. How old is the shooter?

The sling only attaches to the rifle at one point, on the bottom of the forearm. The other end is a loop to go around the bicep. Target slings are not like military or hunting slings that are supposed to be dual purpose: support for shooting position and a method of over-the-shoulder carry. Target slings are for positional support only, so they only attach at one point. I couldn't figure it out first time either, until I read online the purpose.
